I have heard many great reports from the student body of our youth group sharing expressions of appreciation from our speaker last week. Jeremiah McClure gave us a great challenge to be a generation that seeks God in our actions striving for purity and what we allow into our lives. Make sure to remember his illustration about the brownies as it pertains to purity in our lives.

Adam Grey had some great news last week as his collar bone has healed and he can now play soccer again!
Brian and DeAnna (Dyer) Lewis were married this past Friday night. What a great wedding ceremony and reception. They know how to throw a great party! Congratulations to Brian and DeAnna and their families!
Congratulations in order for you? Let Eddie know by emailing him.
Tonight we will be studying how we can "Close the Gates" in our lives to help us grow spiritually. Hope to see you there. We will be having prayer time in the prayer room at 6:30.
Wanted to inform you of what is going on in Mt Zion Wesleyan Youth ministries.
SWU’s Winter Weekend Youth Conference
Southern Wesleyan University is holding a Winter Weekend November 19-20. This trip will be similar in format to the IWU Youth Conference. The cost is $30 for registration and travel. Pastor Ken will be speaking! Money and registration is due tonight (10/27). If you forgot your money tonight, you better beg and bribe Eddie if you want to go.
Barn Bash
Don’t miss the biggest party of this year. We will have dancing (without moving the hips), drinking (hot chocolate), and drugs (caffeine and sugar). Now that we have your attention, make sure to come out for a great time. Get ready for a great time on October 30 at the Conner’s home from 6-9 PM. Meet at the church at 5:45 if you need a ride over. Make sure to bring a blanket and/or a yard chair to sit it. Jim Burchel will shave his head bald if we have 80 people there. If it rains, visit www.maXXyouth.com for instructions. Click here if you plan on attending.
Trunk-N-Treat
No one is ever too old to get candy on October 31. Come ready to get some candy and help distributing candy during Youth Alternative starting at 6PM. Be there at 5:30 if you would like to help out. Click here if you plan on attending.
Parent/Sponsor Meeting
There will be a parent/sponsor meeting at Bethany Hall following the morning worship service on November 14. Come prepared to eat and fellowship with one another. Let Eddie know if you are interested in helping with the food preparation. Students are welcome to eat with us before being dismissed to the Old Sanctuary for a movie. Click here if you plan on attending.
Relationships at Youth Group
Seeing that cute guy or girl at youth group sure can be an exciting thing can’t it? I know I get excited when I see Martha Marie there! Relationships can be a great thing when it’s the right person and the right timing. However, unless you have a license on your finger called a wedding ring, keep it toned down while at any youth group activities please...especially during worship services. Let visitors think you’re “just friends” if they have never seen you before.
Calendar Fundraiser
Time to beef up your student account so you don’t have to pay for registration for events. We will be selling calendars starting November 7. They make great Christmas gifts! Click here if you plan on participating.
Youth Group Transportation Policy
If you ride to a youth group event on the van, you must ride back on the van unless Eddie and/or another adult sponsor as well as your parents are aware of your plans.
