School is hard isn't it? I've been on the campus this week. I see some of the stuff you have to put up with as a student...homework...peer pressure...juggling a busy schedule...struggling with popularity... It's tough being a teen this day and age. Make sure to touch Jesus every morning before you go out the door. Take Him with you. It truly is the only way you will survive school and life.
God showed up at the waste management meeting yesterday and rocked the house! We are now able to continue our building at our youth camp. God was listening yesterday as we prayed!
This week prayer time is in our home at 6:30. Our pre-service prayer meeting will be held in the Old Choir room after this week.
Wanted to inform you of what is going on in Mt Zion Wesleyan Youth ministries.

Worship and Media Team
Students, if you are interested in singing or playing an instrument with the worship team or interested in sound, lighting, or Media Shout/Power Point, join us for a meeting in the old sanctuary this Sunday at 4:30. Andy Peele will be helping us out in these different areas of worship at this meeting. Click here to sign up.
Sunday School Small Groups
On Sunday, October 3, we will be starting an exciting thing for our Youth Group to help us get to know one another even better. We will be starting small groups during the Sunday school hour for the senior high class. Look for more details later concerning small group sign ups.
Fall Kickoff Next Week
Join us next week as we kick off “The MaXX” in the Old Sanctuary!
Bring your friends! Prizes will be available to students who bring 2 or more 1st and 2nd time visitors or someone who hasn’t been to youth since Water Wars. The person who brings the most visitors will get the best prizes!
Make sure to bring your fridge arts from the summer to see if you can win a prize as well.
Bring your quarters. Everything in the snack bar will go for a quarter.
Don’t eat supper before you come, we will have pizza for you afterwards.
Don’t forget to pray for the service before you get there. Prayer meeting at 6:30 in the Old Choir Room!
Wet'n Wild Emerald Pointe Christian Day
Emerald Pointe will be featuring Christian Day with FFH on August 28. This is not a Mt. Zion Wesleyan Sponsored event, but I did want to make sure I informed you. For more information click here.
Hurricane Victim Ministry
A truck and trailer will be located at Big Lots in Lexington off of Old HWY 52 starting at 8AM until it is full to collect anything and everything people are willing to donate for victims from this year's hurricane season. Please bear in mind those that are doing without at this time and consider dropping by and donating items such as food, clothing, water, or anything.
Sponsor Training
There will be a sponsor training day on Saturday, September 11 from 9 am-12 noon at the parsonage (Pastor Keith’s old house). Anyone who is interested in being a new sponsor or wants to continue being a sponsor must attend. Click here to let Eddie know if you are available or if you have a conflict..
See You At The Pole and in the Classroom
September 15th is See You at the Pole. This is a great opportunity to be a witness in your school. Check around your school and see what time prayer time at the flag pole is and show up. It may cost you getting up a little earlier, but it’s a worthy sacrifice. Also, East Davidson students, Kim Cline has approached me about her class room being holy ground any morning at 7:45. This is another great opportunity to use her class room to pray for your school.
IWU Rewind Youth Conference
Keep your eyes open for information about IWU’s Youth Conference coming up November 4-6. This is a great opportunity for spiritual retreat, college visitation, and for us taking a cool trip together.
Youth Alternative Transportation
Meet at the church at 5:45 each Sunday night for the month of August if you need a ride to Youth Alternative. The van will be returning each Sunday night at 8:30.
Bible Bowl
Bible Bowl will start up again on Wednesday, September 1st meeting 6-6:45 every Wednesday night. We will be studying the book of Matthew. This is for teens ages 12-18 that are dedicated to studying and memorizing God's word. We will be participating in competitions throughout the year. Email Alta Cloer at fieldingandalta@triad.rr.com.
