How the Wesleyan Men Structure Works Team Strategy Wesleyan Men relies upon an efficient, effective structure to accomplish the job of "mobilizing men for ministry." Wesleyan Men is intentionally designed to encourage creativity in the way men's groups organize themselves and function. Required guidelines governing local chapters and district organizations are kept at a minimum to promote local initiative and innovation. Men's ministry succeeds best when you make it happen. LOCAL CHAPTERS Local chapters allow men to build relationships one-on-one. They are where leadership skills are honed, friendships are deepened and practical ideas for volunteer service in the church and community is developed. The Constitution of Wesleyan Men offers a flexible structure for organizing your local chapter so that it is responsive to needs and opportunities unique to your group. At the same time, this structure connects local groups across the United States and Canada in a network of international ministry and outreach. Local chapters are encouraged to register on-line annually with the General Office of Wesleyan Men www.wesleyanmen.com. The on-line North American directory will help your group network with men’s ministries for idea-sharing, cultural interchange, fellowship and service. DISTRICT WESLEYAN MEN District Wesleyan Men is a cooperative effort of all the local chapters in a state or region. Many events and projects are simply more meaningful and rewarding when shared with others. Districts often sponsor men's retreats, conventions, North American and world mission work teams, men's life conferences, sports tournaments, and other events. Under the direction of a district Wesleyan Men president and executive committee, your district Wesleyan Men organization is a partner to multiply the ministry opportunities for men in your church. GENERAL WESLEYAN MEN The General Office of Wesleyan Men provides a think-tank for denominational and international leadership for men's ministry. It brings focus to the men's movement, encourages the formation of local chapters, equips district men's ministry leaders, produces resources, offers training events for men, and promotes work teams for home and world mission projects. |
